ROSA L. PARKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Prince Georges County, Maryland
Size & Type of Project - Design/Bid/Build This project consists of the design of a completely new elementary school for Prince George’s County Public Schools. A feasibility study was done in November 2002 and design work began in September 2003. Construction Documents were bid competitively in fall 2004 and construction was completed in August 2006 at a cost of $15 Million. The new school consists of approximately 77,000 gross framed square feet. Primary framing components consist of typical spread foundations, a ground level earth supported slab, masonry bearing walls and structural steel columns, beams & joists. The feasibility study and design were conducted in accordance with State of Maryland IAC requirements. Site development involved working with WSSC, Maryland Department of the Environment, Prince George’s County Department of Environment Resources and Prince George’s County Sediment Control District. MCE Scope of Work Meyer Consulting Engineers Corporation was the Structural Engineer of Record. Our work began with the feasibility study and included all design phases, including construction phase administration. Key MCE personnel included Michael A. Moran, III, P.E.
