Size & Type of Project
This project consists of the phased redevelopment of Rockville Town Center and involves over 1.4 million square feet of new residential, commercial and parking garage construction on 15 acres. The redevelopment plan consists of five (5) distinct development blocks: Blocks 1-2, 3A, 3B, 4 and 5. The completed project will have approximately 644 residences, 1,900 parking spaces, 175,000 square feet of retail and the largest public libarary in Montgomery County.

Demolition began in July 2004. Substaintial construction commenced in January 2005 in a phased manner. Several components were delivered in fall 2006 with the grand opening for the entire complex scheduled in spring 2007. The project was a public/private partnership between the City of Rockville, State of Maryland, DANAC Corporation, and Federal Realty Investment Trust. The overall development cost is expected to be $352 Million, of which $88 Million was publically funded.
