RANDOLPH TOWERS Arlington, Virginia
Size & Type of Project Randolph Towers is one of the largest highrise multi-family apartment complexes in the Washington metropolitan area. The twenty-two story structure consists of approximately 1,000,000 gross framed square feet supported atop an underground parking structure. The underground parking garage houses approximately 650 vehicles. Major floor framing elements were constructed of post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete for both the tower and garage. Scope of Services Meyer Consulting Engineers was retained to provide full-service structural design for the project. The work encompassed an initial feasibility study to select the appropriate framing scheme and proceeded thru the construction documents and contract administrative phases to project completion. MCE also provided design for sheeting, shoring, and formwork. In the construction phase of the project, MCE's services were expanded to include construction materials testing and inspection in accordance with Arlington County standards. The project was completed on-time at a cost of $130,000,000. |
