Size & Type of Project
The McKeldin Library South Portico Restoration was a complex architectural and structural restoration project. The project scope consisted of removing central supporting portico columns and replacing them with new columns. As such, the work required extensive temporary shoring and bracing of the massive portico above the library entrance.

Scope of Services
Meyer Consulting Engineers was retained as the Prime A/E Consultant for this project. Our work encompassed all project phases from schematics thru construction phase administration services. Our services included a detailed existing condition survey, review of extant original construction plans, design of specialized shoring, waterproofing upgrades, and design of the new columns.
