VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER IMPROVEMENTS
Rockville, Maryland
MCE ROLE: CONTRACTOR QUALITY CONTROL & STRUCTURAL CONSULTATION
This project is a $4 Million improvement to Ward 4A of the existing Veterans Affairs Medical Center in downtown Baltimore. The work consisted, in part, of adding a new elevator within existing area. Unlike most elevators, the new elevator pit would be a part of a new structured, suspended slab. Meyer Consulting Engineers Corporation was retained to provide two distinct scopes of work. First, MCE provided a Specialized Structural Inspector to provide quality control for the structural portions of the work. Secondly, our structural engineers provided structural design for beam splices in existing construction.
